"Early Romantic Lieder With Guitar" provides a collection of songs from journals published in Germany during the early nineteenth century under the name "Arion". Some of the songs were composed to go along with well known poetry by German poets. For this collection, only songs by German composers were chosen. The texts appear here as they did in "Arion". These compositions had a great influence on later composers and are marked as the beginning of serious song writing in Germany. Biographies of the composers are included.
"Lieder" simply means singer, so this book is voice with guitar. The music in the book provides a melody line, lyrics and guitar parts.
